Short of Shortbread

So, I was actually going to make the most awesome looking shortbread recipe tonight... THREE ingredients, that's it and what do you think I didn't have? The one and only thing that can't be subbed - the flour... I swear I'm going to work tomorrow and coming home with kilos of the stuff just so I don't run out again...

Incidentally, here's the recipe -

Lestrade's Mum's Italian Shortbread

3 cups flour

1 cup icing sugar

1 cup olive oil

(optional, but tasty: 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp vanilla)

and yes by Lestrade it does mean DI Lestrade from Sherlock Holmes - I'm currently following a rather awesome blog that came about because of an entirely awesome fic...
